Did you know that a tigers stripe is like a finger print?
Yes! If you were to shave a tigers hair off, you could still
see its stripes! No tiger has the same stripe pattern!
Tigers are large mammals. They are the largest of the cat
family. There is only one species of tiger, but their are five subspecies, or types.
The five types are the Siberian tiger, the South China tiger,
the Indochinese tiger, the Royal Bengal tiger, and the Sumatran tiger. Three other types have become EXTINCT in the last 70
years.
Most Bengal tigers have orange, brown, black, and white stripes.
Some tigers have very light colored fur. These are called white tigers. They are very rare.
This is a Golden Tabby Tiger, one of the most beautiful of
big cats, and very rare!
Tigers love the water! Unlike our own domestic cats, that
hate to take a bath! Pictured here is a rare white tiger diving for a treat! This is a amazing photo!

Tigers are magnificant animals that hold an era of independence
and confidence. They are solitary animals, but in the wild, males and females come together durning mating season. A female
tiger usually does not mate until at least 2 yrs. of age. The cubs stay with their mother for up to two years.
Tigers have excellent sight, smell and hearing. When
a male smells a female, or another male marking his territory, they make a snearing face, showing their teeth, and a snorting
sound, this is called fleming.
The night vision of a tiger is six times better than humans,
they are nocturnal hunters.
Unfortunately tigers are also known for their healing powers.
Their body parts are sought after for traditional chinese medicine, and exotic herbal remedies. This is a old wise tale, there are
no healing affects from a tigers body parts!
Its a way of killing the species, poaching, and rain forest
destruction, are some of the most devestating reasons why
tigers are going extinct.
